When I had comcast install my cable modem, the technician worked with this particular product for 2 hours. It continually lost the signal and would not stay continually connected.
The setup was easy. This cable modem worked out great for replacing the cable modem that I was paying a lease on. I did not mind paying a couple of bucks a month, but when they raised the lease fee to 5 bucks, I had to do something. It was just a matter of calling the cable operator and informing them of the cable modem change. They guided me after that.
I have had this modem at two different places and have found this particular modem to be reliable and useful. Broadband speeds are reasonable and installation is fast and easy. Just plug it in - it works. I like things simple and this seems to fit the bill.
I had bought a cable modem from state street deals, the price looked very good, but when I recieved this item there were a few things missing as what was said in the discription. 1st. off the modem itself did not work, 2-3 things were not in the box when I opened it, they do not return your phone calls. I will NEVER do any bussiness with state-street-deals ever again.
Bought this modem brand new 2 years ago and before we had COX cable with no issues at all with this modem, would stay lit up and super fast too. However when we recently moved to DC and switched to COMCAST, we been having MODEM problems where it would reboot about 20 times per day or not reboot for hours. We had strong signals but the modem kept acting up so we finally caved and payed the outrageous rental fee of $7 per month that comcast charges to use their modem. I dont know if in time we had water damage or something to cause this but it has happend and read the other 1 star reviews it has happend to them, be cautious if its slow or rebooting you might need to reconsider another modem.
